It's possible to blow an electrical fuse in your Pontiac Grand Prix at any time, whether you own the base, GXP or GT model. While a model older than 1987 can have fuses in different locations, the process to change a fuse is the same. Replace a blown fuse in just a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    1

Turn off the Grand Prix before you begin to replace a fuse. Find the fuse box inside the glove box on the passenger's side of the instrument panel.

    2

Look behind a small bin on the right inside of the glove box. Pull the cover out to access the fuses.

    3

Check the inside cover of the fuse box for a fuse puller and listing of fuses found there. Use the fuse puller to remove the fuse you need. For example, in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, the windshield wiper fuse is in the slot labeled WIPER.

    4

Push a new fuse that has the same rating into the open slot until it snaps. In the Step 3 example, the wipers would use a 25-amp mini fuse.

    5

Shut the fuse box and glove box and restart your Grand Prix. Verify the new fuse is in working condition.
