If you have noticed that the air conditioner is not smelling as fresh as it used to, it may be time to change the cabin air filter (sometimes referred to as the "dust and pollen filter"). The Honda Owner's Manual states that the cabin air filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles under normal driving conditions. If you often drive in dusty conditions or on dirt roads, the filter should be changed more often.
Instructions
- 1
Open the glove box, remove all contents, and locate the stops on each side near the top of the glove box.
2While holding the glove box cover, remove the two glove box stops by gently pressing them from the outside. After you've removed the stops, let the cover hang down and out of the way.
3Remove the filter lid from the blower unit by depressing the clip on the left side of the lid to release it.
4Pull out the first filter. Slide the second filter to the left and pull it out also.
5Install the new filters. Make sure that the "air flow" arrows on the filter elements are pointing in the same direction as the arrows on the filter housings.
6Reinstall glove box stops.
